| What
is it about? |

Only a few years ago, infection
with the 'AIDS-virus' HIV usually meant serious illness and
death within a few years. Today, in the rich industrialised
countries this has changed dramatically. Thanks to new drugs
many people with HIV are now able to lead a more or less 'normal'
life. Their life expectancy has increased dramatically and many
consider themselves to be 'healthy', except for the HIV-infection.

|
But what does a 'normal life' mean? Does
it, for example, include having children of your own?
Watch our video to hear for yourself how life
with HIV can be and why women decide to have a baby
despite their HIV-infection. Check what other Europeans
think about it. You can also take part in our European
on-line debate, where students, scientists and visitors
from all European countries discuss the current challenges
in Life Sciences.
